Egg and Ball

This art exhibition was a multi modal exhibition dramatizing the theme of rebirth. Multi modal being the academic term describing the use of various modes to communicate, such as images, video, music, and the curation and placement of these artistic objects.

The rebirth in question was my own, as I had a personal experience leaving me questioning the nature of my own existence. So, I gathered the objects that “refer-to-me”, while also investigating the icons of the Phoenix and Sisyphus. Albert Camus words kept ringing in my mind “We must imagine Sisyphus happy”.

The audience was asked to look, interact, and investigate “my old self”. The images has sporadic thoughts written on the back, music played quietly of old songs I’ve sung, a video slideshow depicts the Egg looking for their Ball, while I explain the circumstances of my “rebirth.” Since this personal crisis is long gone, I leave only the images available as to preserve this exhibition as something that happened between me and the audience that day.
